Spring is a time of celebration and new beginnings, in Wales the first day of March is one of the most colourful of the year, not just as the start of spring but because it’s St David’s Day. On this day you will see national emblems, the daffodil and leek, proudly displayed, flags flying and parades and festivities happening all around the country. A wonderful start to the new season, the fun and festivities only continue from there, so if you’re planning a short break in Llandudno, here’s what’s on this spring…
1st March – St David’s Day
On St David’s Day, many towns and historic sites in Wales, including castles are holding special events. At Castell Conwy visitors can enjoy the sounds of an authentic Welsh choir as they explore the impressive medieval castle (entry charges apply)
2nd March – SPEAKEASY at Venue Cymru
Just a short stroll away from our Llandudno hotel you’ll find just the entertainment you were looking for at Venue Cymru. For Strictly fans and lovers of live music and dance, come and experience ‘SPEAKEASY’ with Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez.
3rd March – The Rocky Horror Show at Venue Cymru
A legendary one, The Rocky Horror Show is coming to Llandudno to capture the heart of enduring fans and welcome new ones.
6th March – NT Live ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ (PG) at Venue Cymru
National Theatre Live is back for, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ – ‘a joyful reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated comedy.
13th March – John Bishop – ‘Back at it’
For those seeking a night of laughter, join John Bishop on his ‘Back at it’ comedy tour.
18th March – An Audience with Liverpool Legends
What could be more exciting for Liverpool football fans than ‘An Audience with Liverpool Legends’ with John Barnes, hosted by Jed Stone. Entertaining banter and a night of stories and tales from his career. Plus, a pre-show ‘Meet and Greet’ – limited to 100 guests.
22nd March –Spring Markets
Spring markets are all about celebrating the season and small independent businesses. This year visit the nearby Victoria Centre in Llandudno for their spring market, with stalls of artisan crafts and gifts, or head over to Caer Rhun Hall in Conwy for their seasonal spring market with more than 50 stalls, an Easter egg hunt trail, live music, and other activities.

Sunday 30th March 2025 – Mother’s Day
It’s a dedicated day to make sure the mother in your life feels extra special; celebrate Mother’s Day with us at our North Wales hotel. Sit down to a delicious Mother’s Day lunch in our award winning Chantrey’s Restaurant or enjoy a spot of shopping or a wander along the beach before coming in for a wonderfully indulgent Afternoon Tea.

5th – 27th April 2025 – Spring Show at Plas Newydd House and Garden
This spring visit Plas Newydd House and Garden on Ynys Môn (Anglesey) for their Easter Spring Show.
Inspired by the house’s own theatrical history, Plas Newydd is taking visitors on a ‘journey through the gardens’ which they have imaginatively turned into a stage ‘where the beauty of nature itself takes the spotlight.’
5th – 27th April 2025 – Easter Egg Hunt at Bodnant Garden
Springtime festivities continue at Bodnant Garden with their annual Easter Egg Hunt; set off on the trail and enjoy fun nature-inspired activities for the whole family.
20th April 2025 – Spring Quest at Castell Conwy
What say you to a medieval adventure? Experience the fun-filled Spring Quest at Castell Conwy where you will be recruited to help Carwyn the trainee guard, find his hidden uniform and armour around the castle so he can graduate. Some extra motivation for you… There might also be some hidden Easter treats for anyone who helps!
16th May –18th May 2025 – Trefriw Walking Festival 2025
If you’re a keen hill walker or nature-lover, plan your spring break in Llandudno to coincide with the Trefriw Walking Festival 2025 this May. Around a 30-minute drive away from our Llandudno hotel, expect around 20 walks on offer at this 3-day walking festival with many starting and ending in Trefriw on the edge of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.
