If you’re sitting at your desk wondering why you should visit North Wales this Autumn and Winter, here are our top three fantastic reasons to spur you on to book your trip now:
1. The whole of North Wales is a playground
Yes that’s true and while we’ve gained a reputation for being the Adventure Capital of the UK with the opening of attractions like Zip World and Surf Snowdonia, you don’t need to be an adrenalin addict to have some serious fun!
The sheer diversity of North Wales offers the visitor so many choices. So aside from gliding through the air at 100mph on the world’s longest zip line or learning to surf on the world’s first indoor surfing lagoon, why not bounce your way down a cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral at Bounce Below, enjoy a pony trek through Snowdonia or a speedy and exhilarating rib ride along the spectacular coastline. If none of those are on your bucket list, then how about riding the longest Cresta Toboggan run in Wales, pit your wits against the waves for some boogie boarding (a wetsuit is a must though!), try your hand at Frisbee Golf at Plas Newydd on Anglesey or enjoy a round of “proper” golf on one of the 40 plus golf courses we have on our doorstep?
If you’d prefer something a bit more gentle, you can’t beat a ramble through the countryside or along a long sandy beach to not only blow away the cobwebs but allow you the chance to soak up the many spectacular views this region has to offer.
All these activities and many more can be found on our website so why not plan a playful weekend away in North Wales.
2. Finish 2017 on a high note
Venue Cymru in Llandudno has some of the biggest names in music, theatre and comedy in North Wales and its final season for this year is no exception!
The Welsh National Opera will be performing Khovanshchina, Eugene Onegin, From the House of the Dead and Die Fledermaus from 24 to 28 October, and the Russian State Ballet and Opera House will perform Swan Lake on 27 November and Romeo and Juliet on 28 November.
There’s a wide range of concerts with big names like Lulu on 15 October, Sixties Gold starring Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Searchers and Brian Poole and The Tremeloes to name just a few on 29 October. Elaine Page will be in full voice on 2 November, Take That’s new musical show The Band is on 14 November and Robert Plant on 22 November.
Strictly for the adults is the Dreamboys on 19 October but on a lighter note there’s Dirty Dusting on 16 October, Real Women on 21 October and Paul Sinha of The Chase with his show “Shout out to my ex” on 3 November.
And don’t forget this year’s swashbuckling pantomime, Peter Pan starring Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas as Captain Hook. Running from 9 to 31 December it will have all the ingredients for a perfect show – laugh out loud comedy, bundles of audience participation, stunning scenery and special effects and plenty of opportunities for you to boo and hiss!
Venue Cymru is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel so we couldn’t be better placed for you to enjoy a show with one of our fabulous special breaks.
3. Culinary delights
Wales is noted for its food. Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef have been recognised by the European Commission awarding them the coveted status of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) which puts them on a par with excellent regional products like Parma Ham from Italy. And with such a strong reputation for our Beef you won’t be surprised that we also have many award winning cheeses, and with miles and miles of beautiful coastline we’re also famous for our fresh fish and seafood.
Take time out on your visit to relish the very best Welsh produce, and if you’re looking for a unique and relaxed dining experience then make sure you book a table at our two AA Rosette awarded Chantrey’s Restaurant. Our seasonal menu is impressive in imagination, concept and skill and allows diners to enjoy a unique and relaxed dining experience of memorable dishes using the finest Welsh produce.
And if you’re wanting an aperitif beforehand, then make sure you arrive in plenty of time to enjoy one of the award winning Welsh artisan drinks in our bar. There’s locally brewed beer from the Great Orme Brewery, Gin from Snowdonia, Vodka from the wild Brecon Beacons and a range of single Malt Whiskies from Penderyn.
If we’ve whet your appetite, why not book your table at Chantrey’s?
