RSPB Nature Reserves
Conwy
Opening to the public in 1995, the RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve is a wetland on the Conwy Estuary. Here, you will find an array of wildlife of flowers, plants and wild birds as you explore the open trail.
The species of birds you may catch a sight of include the Black-tailed godwit, Lapwing, Sedge Warbler, Shelduck and Water Rail.
South Stack Cliffs
The South Stack cliffs in Anglesey showcase the beauty of the rugged coastal landscape. With their dramatic rock formations, towering heights, and panoramic vistas of the Irish Sea, these cliffs provide a captivating backdrop for birdwatching, coastal walks, and unforgettable experiences in nature. The species of birds you may be lucky enough to see here include the Chough, Guillemot, Peregrine Falcon, Puffin and Razorbill.
Angel Bay
Depending on the time of year you visit this spot, you may be lucky enough to see a family of seals during the breeding season. Typically, you will find these during the Winter months, often in late October and early November. If you have any, don’t forget to bring your binoculars for a closer look at these adorable marine mammals.
Llyn Cefni
Found on most of Anglesey’s rivers, Otters are making a steady comeback to the area. Their return may be due to a better quality in water of the streams and running rivers. If you want to catch sight of these adorable animals, then visit Llyn Cefni. You may also spot them in Valley Lakes and Malltraeth Marsh too!
Butterflies Of The Great Orme
On the Great Orme, you can find more than 20 species of butterfly. The Silver Studded Blue and Grayling species are two of the most popular butterflies you can spot here. During the summer months is when you can spot these butterflies in groups, which is typically rare in other parts of the country.
Red Squirrel Discovery Trail
On the route of this trail in Llyn Parc Mawr, you may get the chance to catch sight of one of the red squirrels, which is the best place to spot them in Newborough.

Bodafon Farm
Just a short walk under 20 minutes, you can drop by Bodafon Farm. Nestled in the picturesque countryside, this working farm offers a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. Here, you can see a variety of friendly animals, from deer, llamas and goats. There are also a range of birds and owls on site. If interested, there is space for you to hand feed some of the animals at the farm too.
